Family Life Academy Charter School II

Letter from the Principal!

We hope you had an enjoyable and relaxing summer. We are so glad you will be a part of our school community. The school’s philosophy is grounded in the belief that children learn best through a holistic approach that honors parent and community involvement, a safe and caring learning environment, a healthy eating and wellness program and a rigorous curriculum.

The FLACS III building on Gerard Avenue is still not ready for the opening of the school year. Therefore, FLACS III students will continue to use the third floor and additional classrooms on the main floor in our building. Your continued cooperation is appreciated as we support our sister school FLACS III during this transition. Our students will use the same entrance they used last year and gather in the multi-purpose room in the morning and at dismissal.

Below is important information including a summary of key services.

FLACS II is a uniform school. It is required that all students wear uniforms from the first day of school. Uniform colors are navy blazer, white polo shirts, khaki bottoms and black shoes.

The first three days of school for our kindergarten students will be a half day. The start times and dismissal times are as follows:
September 9th 9:00am - 11:30am
September 10th 8:00am - 11:30am
September 11th 8:00am - 11:30am

Pick up time will be 11:30a.m. from the multi-purpose room. Please be on time. Dismissal after the first week of school will be 3:30p.m. also from the multi-purpose room.

A healthy breakfast is served for all students on a daily basis in the classrooms as soon as the class settles in. Breakfast is free of charge for all students. Children will enjoy breakfast with their teachers and classmates in the intimacy of their classroom.

As we begin this year, please remember that this is your school and we welcome your involvement. Since we recognize that parents are their children’s first and most important teachers, we need your cooperation and involvement to provide your child with a quality education. Take time to review and talk with your child about their school experiences. Your interest and concern in their school progress will motivate them to do their best. Maintain contact with your child’s teacher and related staff to establish a successful home-school connection.

Once again, welcome to FLACS2. I look forward to a productive and successful school year.

Warmest regards,
Mrs. Lourdes Arroyo
